Q: How are the remixes being judged?
A: The Grand Prize Winning remix will be determined by Riverboat Gamblers, their management Villiam Artist Management and record label, Volcom Entertainment, judging style, creativity and taking into consideration the number of votes. The 5 Runner Up remixes will be determined solely by vote totals.

Q: How many submissions may I submit?
A: You may submit as many remixes to this contest as you would like.

Q: How many audio files do I have to use?
A: You can use as few or as many stems as you would want, providing you use at least one stem to stay within spirit of the contest.

Q: What key is it "Robots May Break Your Heart" in? What tempo is it?
A: "Robots May Break Your Heart" starts in C Sharp and the chorus is in E at 76 BPM.

Q: Can I use samples in my submission?
A: Yes, but they must all be listed on the submission form you submit with your remix. Since we won't be officially releasing these remixes, why limit your creativity. It's all in good fun.

Q: I've never remixed a song before, how do you suggest I start?
A: If you haven't remixed anything before and are on a MAC, fire up GarageBand and start importing the stems, or regardless of what type of computer you have you can use an online audio editor like the ones provided by Indaba and Aviary. Sometimes it takes a while to get something you like, don't get discouraged, if your remix isn't turning out like you envisioned, there is plenty of time to try lots of different ideas.

Q: How long is the contest running for?
A: All remixes must be submitted by 11:59pm (PST) August 20, 2010.

Q: How can I promote my mix?
A: Once your remix has been received we will post it on our website where it will have it's own URL address and a player that includes handy social networking links and an embed code. Use the links provided by the player to post your remix to your Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, Digg and Delicious, as well as by email. You can also embed the remix player on your own website or blog with provided embed code.
